Fuel surcharge

Also called FSC

TL;DRAn extra charge on a haul that tracks fuel prices — a percentage of base or an indexed amount.

Most carrier contracts price fuel separately from the base rate so the base can stay fixed while fuel floats. The surcharge is a rate line, often pointing at a rate index, and shows as its own charge on the invoice and in the journal.
