TL;DRThe carrier contract's table of what each movement costs — base rate, surcharges, and accessorials.
A rate card is the commercial heart of a shipment contract. It sets the base by lane or zone, adds fuel as a percentage or an indexed amount, and lists accessorials — liftgate, waiting time, detention — with their prices.
Rate cards live on the contract with a start and end date; rating uses the card in force on the shipment date.
