Subscription activation

Also called Payment-gated activation · Schedule activation

TL;DRThe moment a schedule starts billing — immediately, on a fixed date, or only after a gating payment lands.

Some contracts start the clock on signature. Others say the subscription begins when the setup fee is paid, or on a date the customer confirms later. Sonic models all of these as an activation mode on the schedule.

Under a payment gate the subscription dates are genuinely empty until the gating invoice is paid; the phases hold their durations and are given real dates when the gate resolves. The commercial contract dates never move because of a gate.

Activation is an operator action. Save and activate is the point at which drafts start generating.
